Lock and Key

There is something I keep under lock and key.
A feeling I can never let you see.
My prayer each night as sleep takes hold of me.
“Oh my love, how I wish we could be…”

The thought of you can make me smile,
So bright, a bliss I have not felt in a while.
My heart leaps, and struggles to break free
Of it’s bone cage, kept under lock and key.

It does not matter that you aren’t near.
The sight of you alone is a memory I hold dear.
And although your eyes never seek mine,
Yours are the only ones I see each night.

I always dream of finally being in your arms.
A place where my love can never come to harm.
But reality destroys this dream each day,
When I try to say hi, but instead I walk away.

The things I wish I could say to you...
All the deeds I wish I could do...
I want to show you how deep my love is, and true!
Yet I know that all my dreaming can never be,
So I will keep this love forever in my heart…
